Prezola last week raised £3m from Business Growth Fund’s Growth Capital programme.

The venture-stage startup operates a wedding gift list and honeymoon fund planner. Using the platform, couples can create custom gift lists and projects to which they invite contributions from friends and family. Their guests then use the platform to send money discreetly or identify and buy the desired prodcuts. Charitable donations are also supported. Prezola was founded on Valentine’s Day in 2012 by husband-and-wife team Ali and Dom Beaven, and the pair intend to use the capital to continue mobile-first development.

Winner of numerous awards, Prezola offers selection from 300 brands and free delivery (it operates on a ‘freemium’ model for users). It is just one of dozens of startups developing in the wedding industry: numerous dress and design companies have arisen in recent years, alongside several wedding planning websites and platforms.

BGF’s Growth Capital fund has also recently invested into Waterford Distillery (£17m), an Irish spirits manufacturer,  Sentric Music (£3m), a digital royalties service, and Sophia Webster (£4m), an accessories shop.
