Meet our Account Managers

What is Account Management?

The account management team at Beauhurst are responsible for looking after all of our subscribers, from providing initial training and implementation of the platform to ongoing support throughout the year.

We help tailor the platform to subscribers’ individual needs, and point out handy tips and tricks to ensure users gain the maximum value from Beauhurst, while saving as much time as possible.

What do we get up to?

There is no such thing as a typical day for our account managers, something which makes our roles so fulfilling. We might be meeting and training new clients in London, travelling up to Edinburgh to catch up with our long-standing subscribers there, or based in our Brixton office answering queries and inputting into future plans for the product. Whatever we’re up to, there’s always someone on hand to answer the phone and help out clients that have questions or feedback.

What are we working on right now?

At the moment, we’re focussing on training our subscribers to use the new Explore feature, and getting our new recruits up to speed.

Meet the team!

Zoe Carmichael, Head of Account Management, Beauhurst

Zoë
Our Head of Account Management, Zoe, studied Geography at Edinburgh University and has obtained the IMC. Outside of work, Zoe can be found painting watercolours, baking show-stopper cakes worthy of Bake Off, or competing with Bertie, her beloved horse.

What is the most rewarding aspect of your role?

I’ve cultivated nearly 6 years of relationships with subscribers so it’s rewarding knowing them so well. I love seeing Beauhurst develop and becoming a crucial part of our clients’ everyday work.

Book recommendation?

The Undoing Project – Michael Lewis

Jo Hawkins, Account Manager, Beauhurst

Jo
Jo has a degree in History and a master’s in Women’s Studies from the University of Oxford, and has worked at Beauhurst for over a year and a half. Outside of work, Jo loves reading fiction, attending interesting talks, origami, and a good trip to the pub.

What sectors are you most excited to see develop?

I recently wrote a piece for our annual report The Deal about EdTech. Researching the range of applications and how the sector really is at the start of its journey was fascinating, so I look forward to tracking its future progress.

Favourite TV Show?

Fleabag – Phoebe Waller-Bridge is a genius!

Ellie Duffield, Account Manager, Beauhurst

Ellie
Ellie studied Linguistics at UCL, and has been at Beauhurst for more than 18 months. She can’t go long without live music, and can usually be found at gigs and festivals, or cooking up delicious creations (often while listening to some pop punk).

What sectors re you most excited to see develop?

I’m passionate about tackling climate change and sustainability (I use my Beauhurst account to follow biodegradable plastic companies!) The news outlook is pretty bleak, but the high concentration of funding going into the area and lots of young companies looking to tackle the problem is hopeful.

What’s one of the most important lesson you’ve learnt at Beauhurst?

How much of a difference self confidence can make! Conversations with subscribers are so much easier for everyone when you relax and be yourself.

Georgia Brown, Account Manager, Beauhurst

Georgia
Georgia started at Beauhurst in January 2019. She studied Geography at the University of Birmingham and put her love of the subject to good use, spending two years working abroad. She loves musicals and is trying to visit as many countries as she can.

What do you enjoy most about your role?

I love visiting clients at their offices and gaining first-hand insight into their various roles and industries. I’m only 5 months into the role and have already spoken to so many interesting people and learnt so much.

Favourite Book?

The Five People You Meet in Heaven by Mitch Alborn

Layla Mesforoush, Account Manager, Beauhurst

Layla
Layla has a degree in Psychology from Regents University London and a master’s in Management from Imperial. She believes that nothing can relax you more than a good workout after a long day at work, and can regularly be found at a hot-yoga class.

What has been your favourite bit about Beauhurst so far?

The people I work with! There’s such a range of passionate and enthusiastic people, both working at Beauhurst and among our subscribers.

What are you most looking forward to in your role?

I genuinely believe that the Beauhurst product is an amazing tool and I look forward to being able to contribute to the future of the platform. I’ve already been able to give feedback and insight into what we might do next which is really exciting.
