The most ranked companies, ranked

| Jonathan Ross

There are no shortages of rankings and lists of promising companies. Here at Beauhurst, we track 19 of these high-growth lists, ranging from quantitative metric-based rankings to qualitative judgements based on a panel of industry experts. Whenever a company appears on one of these lists, we begin building a richly-detailed profile on the company, as we do for any other tracked company on Beauhurst. Currently, we are tracking over 5,500 companies that feature on one of these selected lists.

All this data means that we can quickly see which companies are most commonly listed. It is worth pointing out that not all lists are created equal, and in many cases, are showing very different things.

Fasttrack 100 shows companies with the fastest growing sales in the last three years, similarly to Deloitte Fast 50 and the FT 1000. The Leap 100 takes an alternative approach, using experts from The Entrepreneurs Network, Seven Hills and Mishcon de Reya to come up with a list of promising companies. Combining these rankings with the Queen’s Awards for Enterprise gives an interesting combination of “factual” fast-growth with companies who are yet to turn this into demonstrable revenue growth but hold great promise.

Fintech’s prevalence is immediately obvious. Optal, GoCardless, RateSetter and Ebury sit firmly within the financial technology sphere. And to have the top two on this list operating in very similar spaces is not surprising, given the well-publicised dominance of the sector, at least when it comes to investment.

The remainder of the list spans a wide gamut of sectors, from MarTech and logistics, to e-commerce and online gambling. This is encouraging to see, and shows health across the UK’s high-growth spectrum.

How does Beauhurst help?

From conversations with some of our users – particularly those involved in B2B sales and business development – we know that using high-growth lists for lead generation is common practice. Why spend large amounts of time building sales lists of individual companies and accounts when you can find a hand-curated list of fast-growing companies?

Beauhurst goes a step further, collating any company that features on the most well known publicly-released rankings, lists and awards in the UK. This, on top of our other tracking triggers, allows us to offer the most powerful way to discover the fastest-growing companies in the country. Find out more about how our platform works here.
